I am currently the online editor for Globe Drive, the automotive section for the Globe and Mail. I manage the website in edition to producing, shooting and editing video. In 2015 Peter Cheney and I published a large multimedia feature on the rise and fall of NASCAR.
Before starting at the Globe I worked as a producer and online writer for CTV News and before that was a news editor with Yahoo Canada.
Before I started at Yahoo!, I worked for a number of different outlets and some of my work can be seen below.
Working with Dan Rather
I co-produced, co-edited and co-wrote a piece called “A safe place to shoot up,” which aired on Dan Rather Reports in February 2008. It looked at how the “harm reduction” strategy in Vancouver is being applied to drug users and sex workers in the Downtown Eastside.
Working for CNBC
I field-produced and filmed much of the Colorado segment for a piece about the oil sands boom in Alberta and the prospective oil shale in Colorado.
Working as a video journalist
During my time in grad school I worked as the multimedia editor for the Ubyssey, responsible for providing video and multimedia content. I researched, filmed, wrote, voiced, edited and appeared on camera for all the pieces.
This piece is about a fire hydrant running in the student body elections in 2008.
This is a piece about the Biological Sciences building at UBC being lockdown after a threat.
